Ethylene glycol is a commonly used concrete antifreeze, its main function is to prevent water from freezing at low temperatures. In the winter, the temperature in many areas can drop below zero, and if the water is not protected, it will freeze, which can cause a lot of damage to some concrete projects. Therefore, the use of ethylene glycol as an antifreeze is very necessary. Antifreeze principle: Ethylene glycol is an organic compound, chemical formula C2H6O2, it is a colorless, odorless, sweet liquid. The antifreeze effect of ethylene glycol is based on its physical and chemical properties.
 

Chemical Nature
 
Ethylene glycol is a colorless liquid, which can not only reduce the freezing point of water, but also interfere with the ice lattice structure in concrete, so that the strength of concrete is not damaged. Mixed with pumped antifreeze, the concrete can be prevented from freezing damage within the ambient temperature of -10ºC. At present, it is used in combination with sod ium nitrite to improve the early strength
