Product Description

Hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC), chemical formula (C2H6O2)n, is a white or light yellow, odorless, non-toxic fibrous or powdered solid, prepared from alkaline cellulose and  chloroethanol by etherification reaction, belonging to the non-ionic soluble cellulose ether. Because HEC has good thickening, suspension, dispersion, emulsification, bonding, film forming, water protection and provide protective colloid and other properties, it has been widely used in oil mining, paint, construction, medicine and food, textile, paper and polymer polymerization reaction. 40 mesh screening rate ≥99%.

Since the surface treated hydroxyethyl cellulose is a powder or cellulose solid, it is easy to handle and dissolve it in dissolved water as long as the following precautions are taken. 1. Before and after adding hydroxyethyl cellulose, it is necessary to stir continuously until the solution is completely transparent and clarified. 2, must slowly sieve into the mixing bucket, do not large or have formed chunks and balls of hydroxyethyl cellulose directly into the mixing bucket. 3, the water temperature and the PH value of the water have a significant relationship to the dissolution of hydroxyethyl cellulose, and special attention should be paid to it. 4, do not add some alkaline substances to the mixture before the hydroxyethyl cellulose powder is permeated by water temperature. Raising the PH after the temperature has been fully warmed will help dissolve. 5, as far as possible, early to add anti-mildew agent. 6. When using high-viscosity hydroxyethyl cellulose, the concentration of the mother liquor should not be higher than 2.5-3%, otherwise the mother liquor is difficult to operate. Post-treated hydroxyethyl cellulose is generally not easy to form chunks or balls, and will not form insoluble spherical colloid after adding water.
